Surgery date

I am on my very last month of my diet. How long after insurance approval was your surgery date? I work retail I just was hoping I would be back before the holiday rush?

When your schedule and the surgeon schedule meet. Usually in maybe couple weeks

You may need 2 weeks of pre surgery diet.

I'm curios were you able to maintain or lose weight during your diet? I go for my second weigh in next week I haven't lost but didn't gain either.

I had 3 visits and lost 3 lbs. My 2nd month I lost 0. That wasn't a problem for me (in terms of my Program) - but others have weight loss requirements and if there's any gain they have to start over.

I met with my surgeon today and have my psych appt next week. Of all the posts I've read on here I don't see anyone saying much about the psych piece. Do most people get by with just one psych appt?

Hi @@wesher71 ! I only had to see him one time

Thanks @"beccaslosinit", I started surgery process in 2014 and the psych then wouldn't clear me without multiple appts to see her then some other things came up in the middle of all that and I had to put surgery on the back burner. This will be a different psych so I'm praying it will be a one time deal.

Good luck @@wesher71! I started my journey in February of this year!

@@wesher71 I had a psych eval with a psychiatrist who is part of my Bariatric Program. During the eval - I asked for additional help with emotional eating issues (I thought I had a 6 month wait so figured I'd take advantage of it and get all the tools I could). I had bi-weekly sessions for 3 months with a psychologist and really feel like I got a lot out of those. I would recommend them to everyone going through this process.
