Hystetectomy

Hello. I've been considering this wls for awhile but I'm just now super determined to do it. I just want to find out more info before I go through the application process.I keep reading about hormone levels. I have had a hysterectomy 4 years ago. I do not take any hormones because my levels are fine oddly. Does anyone know how this would affect wls?

I had a full hysterectomy 4 years ago. No hormone issues afterward. Sleeved on 6/17. Have lost 40 lbs. Things are going great. No complaints and no issues regarding hormones. Best wishes! VSG 6/17

I had a hysterectomy two years ago and had the surgery on June 15th this year. I've had my hormone levels checked through bloodwork and there are no abnormalities, however, prior to surgery I didn't have any hormonal issues either. I've been losing weight (not at the pace I expected), but my starting BMI was not that high. I've lost almost 40 pounds so far.

Of course speak with your doctor(s), but I think you should be fine. :)

I actually had to hold off my sleeve surgery for 5 extra months to have a hysterectomy instead (cancer). Once I recovered and they determined I needed no further treatment, they ok'd my sleeve. I haven't had any hormone issues that weren't expected (really just some hot flashes which are much easier to deal with without all the extra fat).

You'll be fine, actually will help you balance your hormone levels. I had my ovaries removed which forced the change and it's been no issue in weight loss. Best wishes!!!!
