Medicinal bone broth

Has anyone tried medicinal bone broth after surgery. This is the bone broth that is cooked for 24 hours dissolving the bones and veggies if included, straining and drinking. It is supposed to be very beneficial. Please let me know.

This is typically the only way we drink/use broth. My surgery is not until Oct and was just starting to get concerned that the fat content might cause a negative reaction. However, it seems it would be much more healing. I was thinking if I chilled and skimmed all the fat first it may be ok. But I will double check with my NUT too.

I made it, but never ended up using it and now have a gallon size freezer bag filled with bone broth ice cubes in my freezer that I will probably never use :-/

I used the NYTimes recipe- the ingredients cost $60 and by the time it was done I just didn't love the taste so much. And I didn't get sick of Protein shakes and Water while on full liquids so I didn't really need it. But it was a fun thing to do with my time while recuperating!

I have never seen bone broth with medicinal in front of it. I opened this thread expecting to read about the wonders of alcohol infused bone broth, only to learn we are just talking about normal bone broth :(

It should be "medicinal"

My understanding is that its considered medicinal due to the fact that the bones are cooked for a minimum of 24 hours and up to 72 hours so that the bones disintegrate reaping the benefits if all the collagen, amino acids, Protein, glycine, chondrotin.... I'm going to look more into it. I'll share what I find for anyone who is interested
