Surgery Today 8/17/16

I just checked in for my gastric bypass. I am nervous and excited. I have spent hours and hours over the last few months reading all your posts, books, literature from my doctor and NUT, etc to prepare myself. Thanks everyone and please say a prayer for me today!!!

@@dustyd you are going to rock this! You've done all the prep work you can, now relax, get some of those nice anti-anxiety drugs they offer, and have a good, long nap!

@@dustyd I will pray that your surgery is successful.

Yes! So excited for you! Today is my one year RNY surgiversary, and I can't even tell you how incredible the last year has been. That's going to be you next year this time! Good luck, keep us updated. Walk as much as you can and sleep whenever you are sleepy (which will be a LOT). You've got this. ^_^

Prayers for you today! All will go well and you will be on the mend in no time.

I pray all went well.

Okay, new update. It has been a very hard few days. I was tricked at first. Within a couple of hours of surgery, I was feeling great. However, that quickly changed. Through the entire first night I feel like satan had unleashed a gang of demons inside my body. I was allergic to the pain meds that they were pushing and it was very difficult dealing with that. I was up throwing up blood for hours. The pain from that was terrible and I was very scared. I still have tons of the blood in my sinuses. The surgery day and night and the first part of the next day I was so mad at myself for doing this. However, it is getting better everyday. I am at home now so that is a good thing. I have not had more than 2 hours of sleep at a time since surgery. More positive notes: I am feeling better, I am able to hold down water, small sips of a protein drink and about a 1/4 cup of strained cream soup (not at the same time). I believe I am on the mend now.
