Scar cream

When can we start using scar cream? My incisions were all glued and the glue all came off. I'm 6 weeks post op. One incision has a little stitch sticking out, so that's weird, but the rest are all good.

I was told no sooner than 2 weeks. As long as your wounds are completely healed, you should be fine. To be sure, call your doctor and ask them if it's ok.

I used bio oil as soon as the glue wore off. Since then for those that are not longer pink and mostly healed I use skin medica brand it may be a bit early but even the belly button one looks good now.

Generally you can start using scar cream as soon as the site is superficially healed, so for the body about two weeks. I had good intentions to use scar cream, used it a few times and forgot about it. Most of my scars faded and then they were all cut off during plastics. After plastics I used Biocorneum.

Isn't that stitch annoying you? I've had surgeries where I found a random stitch after the opening was closed, even a couple on my upper eyelid blepharoplasty and my surgeon was far away. My friend took a tweezer and they just slid out.

That freaks me out to do it myself!

My surgery was 5/16/16 and I can't even find any of my incisions anymore. They all healed wonderfully and I never put anything on them.
