How much time off work

I am having surgery in a few weeks and I am wondering how long it took before you could go back to work. I was told 4-6 weeks but my friend had the sleeve and said she felt good after 1 week. I don't want to have my coworkers know so I am planning on only taking 1 week vacation time. Is this unreasonable?

    I had surgery on a Thursday and was in the office Tuesday. Easily could have gone in Monday. But everyone is different - it depends on what kind of work you do, your state of health before surgery, many factors.
