Anyone in "bandster hell" yet?

Hey Crazy Ates,

I don't think I'm in bandster hell yet but I may be entering banster purgatory. I think my stomach inflamation is finally subsiding and I'm able to eat more now -- dang it! Solid foods start next week for me.

My first fill is 9/25 and I can't wait. Anyone else schedule their first fill? How is everyone doing?

For the past 2 days I have been hungry and seem to have very little restriction. Guess I have entered Bandster Hell. Not that I wanted to go and visit - but hopefully it will be a short stay. At this point I have stopped losing (over a week now) and perhaps eating a bit more (I was only taking in 600 cals a day) will kick start the scale again. If not, I'm patient and can wait until September. Next visit is the 17th. I will def. need a fill!

I was banded Aug. 15 and have lost 15 Lbs. For the last 3 days I have been starving! I am sick of scrambled eggs and cot. cheese. I had refried beans today and they were good. Alexdrena I want to go shopping with you. How do you cook the chicken liver? I see the Dr. tomorrow and hope to move on to the next stage of food. I have a berium swallow in the morning yuck  Please post any good food you guys are eating:hungry:.

Becky, I See We Were Banded The Same Day In Dallas. Where Were You Banded At ? Me, Presby. I'm Still On Mushies And I Start Solids On 9-2. I Get My First Fill On 9/13. Can't Wait The3 Hunger Is Getting To Me.

I get my first fill Sept. 13th at 10AM I can't wait. Right now I can eat anything as long as a chew, chew, chew and do it slowly. I have never felt full and can't wait to have that feeling of enough from my body. I love being banded! I want this tool to change my life. I'm having problems with not dropping into my old habits. I don't know what to do but I'm trying to figure it out.

Brandottie.......

Is there a YMCA near you? They usually have fantastic programs for all types and desires. They are complete geared for family based programs giving you and even your little ones lots of choices. Our YMCA has programs that would even interest 1-2 yr olds!

Hey Newgirl07, what was your banded date? I am scheduled for my first fill on the same date, but I was thinking that was to soon for me?? I know that my DR has a good rep, but he doesnt explain or tell me anything. I was banded on the 20th.

I was banded by a UTSW doctor at Zale Lipshy Hospital. I'm on mushies until Sept. 4, but no fills until 8 weeks post op, unfortunately. I haven't heard anybody else say their doctor requires 8 weeks. It seems like so long because I am so hungry. My appetite returned within about a week after surgery. I'm using my will power now, but I know I don't have an endless supply. I have been walking almost everyday and am up to a couple of miles at a time. That seems to help keep me motivated. If I'm going to get out in this heat to walk, I don't want to waste my effort by coming home and eating too much. This is definately hard work, but with a big payoff in the end. Hang in there.

Well its official I am in bandster hell, showed a 3lbs gain Friday. I know I was a bit dehydrated when I went in for my post op check up, so I am not too worried. I am still being very careful about what I am eating. Trying to keep the carbs and fats down, and ptoteins up. Can't wait until Sept. 18, should get a fill then. Good luck to all of you who are in a like situation.

Hey Jim,

We were banded the same day and both in Bandster Hell. I don't have restriction for any type of food. I had half of a 6" sub sandwich today at lunch and could still eat dinner. I really feel guilty and feel deprived from the past 6 weeks. I haven't gained any weight, but can't keep eating like this and expect to lose any either. Can't wait for my fill on 9/14 because I sure do need one.

After my surgery I did well on my liquids and lost weight really well. After my first fill I thought " now I'll have restriction and won't be so tempted to overeat" but I felt zero restriction and gained 2 lbs. Two weeks ago I had my second fill. My band has 3.8cc's in it now and YEAH I have some restriction. I actually upchuck here and there. It's strange, some foods like pasta go down great, but baked potatoes or cooked carrotts don't. It's really strange what you can or cannot eat... I think my 3rd fill will hopefully restrict my intake on ALL foods...:hungry:

Mine's not too bad. I was banded 8/14 and was on liquids until last friday (8/24). No hunger up to that point. So after 4 days on mushies, I definitely have times when I am starting to "feel empty"/think I'm hungry but can't really tell. I can only eat about 1/2-1 cup of mushies before I am FULL. (like I have to burp and can't. sorry a bit TMI.) I have had an evening "snack" at times (one of my old bad habits that I am trying to break.) but have been good about keeping to the texture portion of my recovery. Whew.

Mantra: One battle at a time. It took me 30 years to get to 250+ pounds: I'm not going to be able to reverse those habits overnight. I just have to keep trying.

My first fill is 9/14, exactly one month after my surgery. I'm looking forward to it.

I scheduled my first fill for 9/25. I definitely don't have much, if any, restriction any more. It's hard to not revert to bad habits (i.e. fast food).

I think I might've hit HELL already, too.

The scales were dropping daily, but went back up a couple of pounds and have stuck there for three days now.

Oh, well. I know I'm only putting super good stuff in. Probably just my metabolism adjusting to the fact I've been hanging around the house too much. Guess I need to get out and get moving more!

I feel like I'm in bandster hell. I was sick :cry(major food sticking last Friday - Tuna - Yuck!) and my weight went down to 270 after I was so sick and dehydrated. Tonight I was 273. I was banded on 7/26 and am hoping to be filled on 9/10. I'm hungry. I better go to bed so that I don't eat anything!:help:
