Why am I SO HUNGRY!

Just had my VSG 06/30. I'm starting to be a bit skeptical because from everyone I read I'm not supposed to to have an appetite at all especially this fast. Right at 4 days post op I begin being hungry out of no where and can eat everything in sight if I don't control myself. This is the whole point of surgery right to not have these urges especially when I wasn't like this before. I will say it doesn't take but only a few bites to satisfy the hunger but I just wish it wasn't coming so frequently. I haven't felt like this since being pregnant. Is this normal this quickly? My sleeve hasn't even begun to stretch but at this point I'm afraid when it does it'll be as though I never had an operation in the first place. Help me please.

The late June sleeve thread is here: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/370515-late-june-sleeve-buddies/

Looking forward to hearing how things are going for you :)

You should really just drink more protein then and maybe not go so hard with the nuts and regular food because you have staples in there and your body is still healing you don't want to cause a serious complication for yourself

Did you get a PPI and did it help? I'm day 4 and also feeling so hungry. My doc did prescribe me a PPI but I thought I would only take it if I get heartburn. Now realizing this was a mistake....

Just took it and will continue to take it. Hoping it helps.

Did you guys have your barium swallow after surgery??

My doc doesn't do a barium swallow because he said he does the leak test while I'm still under anesthesia.

I do feel restriction when drinking (I'm on full liquids) but still feeling hungry. It's hard to tell whether it's in my head or not... I can't tell the difference :(
