Well, I got my clearance from all my pre-op testing yesterday, and my approval from the insurance company the beginning of last week, so this is it! July 25th is the date! (which what it was set for, but getting the clearance/approval made it all so surreal.) I'm feeling excited, nervous, happy, anxious, ecstatic, and scared out of my mind! I spoke with my surgeon about my fears and anxieties, and he helped reassure me that it is completely normal to be anxious. As I was leaving my final (pre-op) appointment, he said "I'll see you in the pre-op room before surgery."
I have one more appointment on the 14th for normal blood work.
Okay, sorry for rambling! I start my pre-op diet on Monday, the 11th. I'm not on a liquid diet until the last 48 hrs before surgery. My pre-op diet is pretty much the bariatric diet; very low carbs, little to no sugars, lean meats, Protein, veggies and fruit. I will be meal planning tomorrow and heading to the grocery store on Sunday. Any recommendations on what I should pick up (aside from the obvious) and/or high protein/low fat/low carb/little to no sugar recipes? Breakfast? lunch? dinner?
As always, thanks in advance! Went to the local health store, and bought all my Vitamins tonight too. I was excited just buying the vitamins; I know it must sound silly, but I'm so excited and beyond thankful for this.
