How did you get your answer?

I'm dying over here waiting on my approval from Cigna. I'm curious to know how you were notified (either approved or denied).

I called again and they said it's still pending. She said they will notify me via mail. I really don't want to wait the extra 5+ days for a letter in the mail. I asked if they could call me, she said no.

How did you find out?

I called them every other day. Just called today and they told me it was approved yesterday and they are mailing a letter.

I got the call from my patient advocate 9 days after my consultation. They put a rush on the approval without the approval requirements because of my condition (I have Pseudotumor cerebri). They set up a conference with my insurance (BCBS Federal). My PA worked her butt off, bless her heart. Do you have any health problems from being overweight?

No other health problems. My patient advocate isn't the best, unfortunately. She's told me things that weren't true and seems to be dillydallying with my paperwork. I had to talk to her boss to get her to do anything for me

Keep following up with your insurance provider if you don't trust your insurance coordinator. I called my insurance company and they told me they never received it. When I passed that on to my insurance coordinator she insisted she had sent it, but my insurance company somehow ended up with the paperwork within 24 hours. Good luck!

I got my approval letter in the mail about 8 days after it was submitted. I called my doctors office right away, they said its typical for the patient to receive it a day or 2 before.

I received a voice message exactly one week after I submitted.

I then received the approval letter about 3days later, which I faxed to my surgeon's office.

He recieved a copy of the letter from my insurance co. about a week later. By that time, I had my pre-op app'tment scheduled.

Go figure, right? :)

I called cignas automated voice system every day, it took exactly 5 days to get approved, they received it on Monday and it was approved Friday, then took another week for my surgeons office to get the approval and schedule surgery. July 18th for me!
