I was sleeved June 29 and since then I've been extra sensitive to smell. I feel like I have the nose of a dog. The problem is everything smells revolting to the point of making me nauseous. Is this the new me? Has this happened to anyone else and does it go away?

Happened to me. I couldn't handle my blanket because I could smell the fabric softener across the room. I needed a new one. Lasts over a week for me.

yes - It happened to me - and after about a month it mostly went away. But during that heightened time - I couldn't get in a cab or walk near restaurants or even handle the flowers sent to me! Everything in my bedroom smelled rancid to me even though it was spic and span - The only thing I could stand to small was a glade candle in linen

I've always been quite sensitive to smells and now even more so. Before surgery I used to enjoy fake MorningStar 'bacon', seasoned tempeh etc. and now the smell makes me gag when my husband cooks it for himself.

I'm hoping this is ultimately a good thing where I no longer want overly processed foods (that tend to stink the strongest) and go towards simpler stuff.

Like others, I went through that period, and after a month I am back to normal, pre op smelling abilities. It actually stated during my pre op week.
