Medications Problems Post Surgery

Hi everyone..

I am 5 weeks post op and having the following problems with my medications...

Gastric upset from the elevit multi Vitamins

My contraceptive implanon seems to no longer be working as I've had a period for the first time in 2 years since having it in place.

And I feel my anti depressant is no longer effective. I had been feeling ok with them before surgery but have now slipped again mood wise since having the surgery.

Has anyone else had complications with their medications post surgery? I'd love to know more. I am visiting my GP tomorrow but would love to know if this is a common concern?

This is a great issue to talk to your GP about.

Briefly, high potency Vitamins can cause nausea for me. Be careful about when you take them and in what combinations. Your PCP should be able to help you to work out a good schedule.

Hormones do go haywire right after surgery. Gore mines are stored in fat so when we lose a lot of fat in a short period of time our hormones tend to dump rapidly into our system. That can affect our moods and our cycles (for women in particular).

I am glad you have an appointment with your PCP.
