Newly banded

Thought I should introduce myself to the canadian team. I just got banded on Aug. 16th 07 by Dr. Yau in Toronto. went very well. Great team out there. I was so afraid of this surgery but glad I made it through. my surgery weight was 260lbs after many years of strugling to loose weight. It was not too difficult deciding to do this as i had had enough with shoping at penningtons and addition elle. Just scary though. I cant wait to see the pounds falling off. just cant wait to shop in normal shops and be able o buy clothes I like, not what fits me. just cant wait to be able to walk and excercise without being so out of breath, just cant wait to feel healthy generally. this will be a dream come true. I will work hard with this band on my side. I have to use it to my advantage.

today, 4 days postop, i am 7lbs down and happy with the results so far. I know there is lots of hard work ahead, but nothing can be worse than ever dieting and never feeling full, only to gan it all back! Glad to be with you all.:clap2:

Hey Donna, I will be banded on 9-28. I am starting out at 221. Not too far above you before the band. I am a therapist, for sexually abused children. I saw in your profile that you are going to school for psychology. Just wanted to touch base since it seems we have stuff in common. I live in Auburn, AL. We are both southern girls too! I am very excited about getting banded. I will go to Mexico. Write back if you want

Hi Juliecleone

This is Donna D. You quoted me but I think you are referring to Donna. Sorry, I am just not that smart.:ranger:

Donna, there are so many ways of being smart. Life experience counts. Your comments and suggestions have always been so wisely put, and so helpful. I know you were really just joking, but don't sell yourself short!

Hi Haizel,

You'll do well. I was banded on the 10th of August and am now on pureed food.mmmm....I weighed in at 210 and so far have lost 20 pounds. I get my first fill on the 24 of Sept.

Hi Beau,

I'm doing great, have lost 20 pounds so far and looking forward to more. Good luck on your surgery and let me know how you make out okay?

Hi Lisa,

Pat in Markham here. Did Dr. Yau do your surgery? That's who I had and I'm doing good. Will get my first fill on the 24 of Sept.

Thank you Lisa, that was so sweet of you to say.

Will I meet you at the Sept 16 lunch at the Sierra Grill at the Bayview Village Mall?:hungry:

It dosn't seem that long ago that I was a "virgin" too (Donna you made me laugh!)

I quess I am a FILL VIRGIN as I just got my top up yesterday at TBLC

Everything went well, and I am eating ever so gently today... Scrambled egg at 6 a.m. and now a Pudding/w Pro. powder...

I am looking forward to TUNA salad at lunch (can't beleive I am looking forward to fish?) but the more experienced bandsters say fish is tolerated well and is moist.

Getting in all the Water is tricky, as I am used to just Chugging it all down. Oh well, lots of NEW habits to learn for us all.

Good luck on your journey, and post often...

I love coming onto this site. as it keeps BOTH my hands busy [wink, wink] and my computer is far away from the fridge LOL :heh:

Peaches you kill me. You weight is just melting off. I am still able to chug my water and I think I have 5.75 ccs. Why don't you private message me with your address and I will give you directions with no 4's in it. xo

Oh Donna, my weight is not melting off...

my 240 start wgt is NOT what I started at in my Band Journey.

I had lost the first chunk (lol) by WW, Hypnosis, Meridia, excersise etc. but then after a whole year of plateauing I got scarred that I was going to put my 50 back on plus more!(again, like I've always done in the past)

So that's when I made up my mind to do the Lap band once and for all,

so in my signature, you'll see 240/190ish/ my current wgt today/ and my goal of 130...

So there you have it in a nutshell
