Upper g.i. hiatal hernia?

I had my upper gi scope test done today and they found a hiatal (stomach) hernia which my surgeon said he will try to repair during surgery. Has anyone else had this? Also, I'm still having pretty bad gas/ pressure like pain in my stomach and can't stop burping is that normal??

      Hiatal Hernia's are very common, especially for obese people. A hiatal hernia repair along with WLS is extremely normal. I had one when I was sleeved.

    Hiatal Hernia's are very common, especially for obese people. A hiatal hernia repair along with WLS is extremely normal. I had one when I was sleeved.

    I had one too and didn't get it repaired during surgery for some unknown reason. I got the sleeve and I have suffered with horrible reflux ever since. I am having a gastric bypass in a couple of months and hope that will fix everything. Good luck with yours.
