Food getting stuck... for hours!

(I already know.. go slower.. take smaller bites)

Let's face it, we all have done this.. but how do you fix it? I hate this feeling, I think I'd rather throw it up and be done with it. I never have though. It hangs and just sits there. Please help this demon in my chest!

  • Yes it happens pretty frequently. It's so hard after 30 years of eating how I've wanted to learning to not eat fast or swallow much at a time. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

I found out that softer foods go down easier. By softer, I mean chili and Soups. I put some recipes at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

  • They may not I really don't know. I've only had it done for a month. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

@@jccanada happens to me too - I'm 6 weeks out today. It usually only happens to me though when I have forgotten that I need to chew my food until it is like paste in my mouth. All i can say (which I say to myself every day!) is slow down when eating and chew thoroughly until its more like the food you ate during soft phase. I feel that if I applied this rule I could pretty much eat anything i wanted other than those foods that would make me dump (so far only mild dumping on sweet wheat cookie and sweeter style yoghurt and some juices).

One of the issues (if you can call it that) I have right now is that I serve myself what I think is a small bowl or plate of food and still only get 1/4 way through it. I guess that is a good thing :-)

Question when you vomit, why doesnt it come up. Like you have that feeling of wanting to vomit in your tummy ,but nothing comes up no matter how hard you try,why is that?anyone experienced this
