Quick survey for you "old timers". Do the taste buds come back? If so are there permanent changes to your tastes? I am one month out and nothing tastes good. Also many things taste bitter or bland, nothing in between. I am hoping this changes as I didn't expect this.

For me, at a little over 1 year out, the answer is: yes and no.

Yes, I can taste the flavor of food.

No, some foods just do not appeal to me any more.

It is like I have a more sensitive/refined palate.

I was sleeved on March 29. I was just this minute thinking that I wish that some things didn't taste good to me or tasted bland. My taste buds have not changed at all. Of course, I haven't really tried to eat anything that's too sweet. Also, I don't seem to have any difficulty with any types of food I have tried. I ate part of a very nice steak last night and, for the first time, had two small bites of dessert just because it was my anniversary.
