May 24 Surgery Day

So excited and nervous! Is anyone else having surgery on my date? I would like us all in one thread to give our own experiences. It'll be great! We will all be in pain at the same time. [emoji1]

I can relate to everyones feelings, I'm having a revision from LB to GB on May 24th as well. I'm 54; 5'5'' ; 235lbs. I'm very excited & blessed to be getting a second opportunity - to embark on a healthy lifestyle again.

@ChooChi73 wow, tomorrow is your big day!! How do you feel?

I am so tired of people telling me that I am not big enough to have WLS! How big do you have to be for people to be happy for you and the fact that you want to take preventative measures that will prevent further weight gain and assist me in finally being successful in getting this weight off? I am 38, 5 '3" and 246 lbs, I wear size 18/20 pants and 2xl tops. I think that is large enough, right?

I am on the pre op diet right now and it is driving me crazy, like i am getting headaches from my sugar withdrawals. I am not hungry, but the headache just wont go away. How is everyone else doing?

@onmica Hey there how have you been doing? Are you getting nervous since our big day is just around the corner?

Yesss @@Shemekasr I'm flipping out. I can't sleep right but I have a few things distracting me. My nephew's prom party and my carpet being changed. I'm sure Sunday is the day I will be freaking out.

How about you? How is it going for you?

@onmica

I am so ready for this surgery! I dont know what i am ready for the most, being off work or having the surgery... haha just kidding, the surgery trumps being off work although I am looking forward to both! I am just praying that everything goes well and the weight falls off. This pre op diet has my mind flipping, but I am getting use to it.

I've been out on a shoulder injury for almost 10 months. I'm due to return late July. So I will have plenty of time to heal before going back. I work for USPS so I think I need at least 2 months to heal. I should have signed up to get this 2 months after being off work. I would have had surgery already but I was too scared. I'm super ready now. My weight is almost at the 10% I'm supposed to lose. 1 more pound!! Yey!

I'm having surgery on 5/24! I'm getting a little nervous, but mostly ready to change my life!!

I am the 24th as well! I am really nervous and it still doesn't feel real since my doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet. I am sleeping good bad have busy at work getting ready to be out. I am sure I will start freaking out Sunday. I am 5'9 and 290lbs. Looking forward to so many changes!

@ I wasnt required to lose any weight prior to surgery....hmm i wonder if that is just surgeon preference. Nevertheless I am ready and super excited!

Congrats ladies we will be on this journey together!! Are you ready?

Wow.. there are a lot of us. This thread was a success. Now we can talk to each other right after surgery! I'm going for the bypass.

I'm having bypass. My surgery is at 8 in the morning, which is good so I won't be waiting around all day!
