Plication vs Sleeve cost

I just found out the package cost for plication vs Sleeve, 15000 vs 13500(!) I was thinking that the plication would be less expensive. I was looking at the plication for numerous reasons (risks, no cutting, etc) but have been on the fence about which procedure to finally do. How did you decide for the plication vs any other wls?

I had my plication done in Mexico for 1/3rd the price you were quoted. It was slightly less than the sleeve. Why did I choose plication. I had the same thoughts you are having about risks, late complications etc. Additionally I didn't want to end up skinny just a more healthy weight.there is much debate about whether you can lose as much with a plcation. My background is from Europe where it is a very popular surgery and has been studied for far longer than here. They seem to give that surgery far better reviews than it gets here. Another consideration for me was that I care for a post stroke husband and could not afford a lot of down time for recovery. I am very happy with my choice.

One consideration in the US, at least, is that the three procedures most commomly covered by insurance are the lap-band, the sleeve, and GBP. Not the plication.
