Hey everyone! I am still preop with no surgery date yet, I am currently taking a preop skills class. I am just wondering because it crossed my mind-can you take medicine after surgery? I know a lot of people get taken off most meds but I have a heart condition that I will be on the meds for life. What about birth control? I do not want any birth control implants anywhere lol. I was taking my usual medications the day after surgery. This is something your surgeon will discuss with you, and may discuss with your cardiologist as well.

Every Dr. is different. The first group i went to they said i would have to go off my birth control pills 4 wks prior until 2 wks after. I ended up changing my Dr. and the new one says i don't have to go off my pills. I also called my gyno and they said that i don't have to either seeing as i am not new to taking the pill.
