I wish I could have been one of the luck ones that didn't get much pain. But man gastric bypass hurts obviously it's going to but I didn't think my body would react this way. On the first night every time I would go to the restroom I would throw up. Having really bad nausea. A sharp pain and gas feeling in the upper part of my chest/stomach area. I've gone pee probably 20 times with all the fluids. Let me say this is NOT an easy journey. But I can't wait to get past this road bump! Best wishes to everyone else. Any questions please ask ....

Those first few days are the worst. Try Gas-X for the gas and/or a heating pad. Hang in there!

My gastric bypass gas pain was worse than labour (I have three kids ). Again get up and walk I had surgery March 18 . You'll feel better with every burp, (fart) you pass ..

Thank you the encouragement. I've honestly never been in so much pain in my entire life. I think it's mostly a gas pain. Doc just came in and said I'll be going home today. Thank god! But fear is kickin in! So afraid of failure. Getting enough fluids in is harder than I thought.

@Christina_rny - Hope you are doing better now that you are a few more days out and at home. And just k of the "wth have I done" emotions are very normal. I did the same as well as many others on here. This is a long journey with many ups and downs but I promise you it is worth it! Check in and let us know how you are doing.

How long did you stay in hospital? Do you get pain meds in hospital or gas meds? & do you get pain meds when you go home

I'm on day 7 of 14 day liquid diet. I'm finding it SO hard to not substitute a piece of chicken for a shake, because I know it won't break ketosis. Ugh!!!

I'm 7 days post op with the sleeve and have the same pain you are describing. It's horrible. It's gotten a little better. Hope you are feeling better.
