Is couscous a puréed or soft food?? I've been trying recipes for after surgery and couscous is nice and soft, but I believe it's a Pasta???

Yes, it is as you think, made from semolina and of the same caloric value. I'd think it would be considered a soft food, but see what other responses you get.

I wouldn't eat it during the soft food phase but I may be too overly concerned about how to eat during these phases. I still don't have it very often. For soft foods, I prefer really soft foods that you don't have to chew. I know you can probably not have to chew couscous but I still consider it a chewable food.

Texture-wise it would be soft. Nutrition-wise I think you can make better choices.

You will have very little room for food on the soft phase, at least I did, so just about everything you eat will need to be very high Protein and/or high in other nutrients.
