Who got the VSG abroad?

I had the sleeve gastric abroad this January 20, 2016. I get nervous when i hear those horrible stories about the gastric leaks. My question is: what happen if a person who got the VSG abroad and when she/he comes back to United States start having a gastric leak, would the medical insurance cover it?

Do you mean if a person who was a transvestite had the VSG surgery performed overseas (Travelling "a-broad"?)

Never mind. :)

I would ask your insurance provider and get your hands on a copy of their full medical plan coverage and verify it for yourself.

I don't see why they shouldn't cover it, but some people posted that their particular insurance companies wouldn't. I don't know if this based on first hand knowledge or here say.

Every insurance provider is different, so call yours and ask. I had my VSG in Mexico, but I called my insurance provider ahead of time and asked if post-op complications that landed me in the ER would be covered and they said yes.
