I'm very supportive but I'm not for the faint of heart..

If you need the kind of 'support' that involves telling you (or anyone else who'd like support) how it is (or my version of "it") then let's go...

But if what you're looking for is to play the victim and be told that "it'll be ok" when you think you've screwed up, I'm not gonna be much help...

Yes, I'm aware that this probably makes me an arse...

But I'm an up front arse...

There are very few surprises with me!!

Thank you! That is exactly what I need. I know when I am eating that I am eating too much of the wrong food and I need a reset button. I don't know why I am sabotaging myself except for the fact I was sexually attacked the week of my wedding. But that was 27 years ago and I tell myself - get the f*^$ over it. Don't give him that power. I am alone all day until my husband gets home around 7. I gained the weight the first time because of fast food and now when he stops, i ask for something and kick myself in the ass when i eat it. I KNOW I AM DOING WRONG. I need help doing right!! For me, its about health. I have had 3 additional operations and was hospitalized for malnourishment. STRAIGHT TALK ME!

Thanks,

EmilyB21

Hey Emily,

Look likes me all need someone to keep us in line. I have only been sleeved for 3 months but so far everything is going great! I do have to constantly tell myself don't go back to your old habits. Right now I am in competition with my step daughter to see who can lose the most weight and it seems to be keeping me on the right track. I can not stand to lose to someone. Good luck and hope to talk to you soon.

I am new to this and am not sure where to find your name. LOL But thank you so much for replying. I had sleeve 3/14 and it was a disaster. I has five surgeries after. I was nausea and vomiting ALL the time. I really appreciate my doctors office for putting up with my constant calls. I was put in the hospital 7-10 times. Finally this last November I had another surgery where they turned my sleeve into a gastric and repaired the hernias. I feel great and that is probably why I over eat. I would kill for a big bowl of fresh fruit and a big ole salad. I have had a lot of abdominal problems and had a perforated colon which resulted a colostomy for 18 months then had to have the whole large colon removed before the sleeve surgery. I have been on disability since 09 and my goal is to lose 30lbs, get PT, and get my strength back and GO TO WORK so I can contribute to my family.

Hey all,

I am looking for a mentor as well. I have just been approved and plan to get sleeved in April (waiting for confirmed date) and I am struggling with this decision. I know this is what I need to do but I have been in a constant war with anxiety ever since this became what I planned to do. And most of the anxiety is food related. I live in TN so if anyway is willing, I'm here.

Hi Ginapooh. I am from Tennessee also. I am scheduled for March 16. I just think that the thought of cutting away most of your stomach and it being irreversible is frightening. I have anxiety as well. But logically knowing that this is a great tool for weight loss. So I try to put up a stop sign in my head if I start thinking about it. I think I will just try to block those thoughts when I go into surgery.
