Diarrhea

I am 11 days post op and for the past two days I have had a diarrhea. It only happened once each day, and wasn't after eating, more like hours after having a meal. I'm on puréed diet right now. Does this sound like dumping even though so far after eating? Or more like my body is just regulating from after surgery? Also should mention I had IBS-D before surgery that was almost chronic since directly related to my anxiety.

Diarrhea is common after surgery. You will probably not experience true dumping until you reach the solid stage. If you haven't taken any Probiotics yet, you might want to have some. It is important to reestablish a colony of good bacteria in your gut after it was destroyed by antibiotics used after surgery.

It is definately normal. I swear even 16 months post op I am either constipated or I have diarrhea.

There is NO happy medium for me.

Most certainly normal. I had loose stools until I started incorporating greek yogurt daily. It finally brought things back to a mostly solid form.

Either probiotics or yogurt with live active cultures will benefit more than you realize.

I had surgery Monday and was doing fine until yesterday when I started with diarrhea. I thought it was a reaction to the sugar free jello I ate however it just keeps happening. I continue to sip liquids to avoid dehydration but is it normal that I've been in the bathroom 5x in less than 15 hours?

It's normal after surgery. Then, the constipation comes ????
