Almost one week out

Had the procedure on Tuesday, 01/12/2016, back home. My abdomen has hurt in my right upper side, take tramadol and feel better. Getting around good. Little bored. Weight down 5 lbs., taking liquids without nausea. Is this normal? How are other sleevers doing? Like to hear from others.

I never was nauseous much. Just remember every day and every week the pain gets better and you feel better.

Congrats on this new chapter in your life.

I never had much pain, but bad nausea lasted about 10 days post-op.

Congrats and good luck!!

Congrats!!!

Thank you

It's my left side that hurts not right

Hi there,

I too had the sleeve on 12th and everything went fine until about post-op day 3. My surgeon has me on the clear liquid diet until the 21st which is my 1 week fu appt. I felt so hungry and weak. Usually I walk atleast 1 mile around the house but I did not have the strength. Yesterday was a little better and I'm praying for a better day today. Pain or gas has not been an issue for me at all.

Thanks for responding. I was told to rest and clears. Ready to go back to work. Have you lost weight!

Yes, I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 4.4 lbs since Tuesday. I am supposed to return to work on Tuesday but I am going to see how today goes. Have you lost wt?

HI,

I am 11 days post -op. I can't imagine going back to work this week. My doctor has me out for 4 weeks and I have a sit-down job.

The first day was the worst. I could not keep anything down and was drugged out of my mind. I feel asleep just getting to the bathroom. I just weighted myself and down 10 lbs!!! So very happy and plan on driving today to get out and walk.

Still have the pain on left side but nothing like the first 5 days.

Congrats to your progress and everyone else!

Thanks for responding, I've had the pain on my left too, but very little nausea. Congrats on losing 10 lbs!

I had mine on the 11th and ive been pretty good as well. Can't wait to drink a whole bottle of water instead of these 1 to 2 ounces every 20 min. Keep it up!

I had surgery on 1/5/16... 12 days post op. I've lost 21 pounds thus far. Still have slight pain in left side where stomach was removed.

Wanting to try something new instead of Water, yogurt, popsicles and Protein shakes.

No hunger at all but I make myself eat and drink to try to get 60 g protein and at least 40 oz liquid in daily, I do okay with liquids normally but the protein I haven't been able to reach yet.

Any suggestions?

This shows how different people are and there is no way to know how you are going to do.

I had my surgery on a Monday and went back the next Tuesday. I did great. I was a little tired but other than that I felt great!!

We all recover differently and you can only go at your pace no matter what any one of us says. ????
