Regular old gas

I am 2 weeks post op and well past the post op gas pains. But for the last two nights I have had tons of gas. I am constantly (pardon) burping and farting. It has been bad enough to keep me from sleeping with strong cramps in my lower belly. My eating hasn't changed-I am on mushies. Any ideas?:cry

I have had more gas again too! Not in my stomach, but as you say! I thought it was from what I have been eating, because I started eating pretty much "normal" foods, which doc said was okay. Not sure, but have had a few bouts with cramping, don't last long, but they are there. Also, yesterday got it up under my ribs, where I thought it would knock me down. Not sure what that was all about! Sorry couldn't be of more help.

I think it's pretty common, as I often deal with this issue. My doctor suggested as I am about to swallow (after thorough chewing!), breath out through my nose, then swallow. He said that the excessive gas is due to swallowing air with my food....give it a try. Maybe with all the extra chewing, we breath in more air....sounds plausible.
