I'm 5 months out and do under 1000 every day

It's not that big of a deal at your stage. As long as you get your Protein requirement in then you will be fine. 800-1200 calories a day is the normal range for where you are at. When you heal more and can consume more then you can try things like nuts to give you a boost.

I sm 5 weeks out and only average between 400 & 600 calories a day.

I was told that as long as I am getting my protein in and choosing healthy options then that is okay.

I think after a year they want me between 1,000 & 1,200.

I am 3 months post op and I just started getting 1000 cals a day, I also have started running again and training for a half marathon, so I make a great protein shake in the am which is between 300-400 cals. When you are eating healthy it is harder to get in 1000cals a day.

Don't worry so much about calories right now

Focus on fluids and protein the rest will fall into place as time passes.
