Multiple Hernia's - Anyone had this happen?

Hello all. I'm a year and a half post op from Gastic Sleeve and up till December everything was going great. Not going to bore you with the crazy details but come to find out my Hiatal Hernia has reoccurred (didn't know that could happen) and I also have either a Femoral or Inguinal Hernia as well. They aren't sure which kind. My question for you all is, has anyone else had issues with Hernia's and do they have to be repaired? Will it get worse if I don't get it fixed?

Anything you can share would be helpful. I've got an appointment with my surgeon on the 21st and my mind is racing. Thank you!

  • My husband has had both of those hernias in the past year, including surgery. He had a hernia repaired also during surgery.

  • The one in the upper stomach was done laparoscopic so was very easy. He is 69, and he is just 3 weeks out from the inguinal hernia surgery, about a three inch cut. It is uncomfortable and painful.

Thanks for your reply. How is he healing from the Hernia surgery?

The one in the upper stomach was done laparoscopic so was very easy. He is 69, and he is just 3 weeks out from the inguinal hernia surgery, about a three inch cut. It is uncomfortable and painful. His age, I believe, makes it worse, and being cut makes for longer recovery. Good luck, everyone is different, and age probable doesn't help!
