Stomach pains!

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had pains more on the right side that hurt almost worse than labor pains. I have had this happen 3 times now. The pain is so bad that I want to cry and I start breathing like I am in labor. Could it be that I have ate to much? The first time it was 3 small meatballs. The 2nd time it was some rotisserie chicken with a couple bits of my husbands chicken nuggets and the third time was homemade beef stew. Any ideas and could this be dumping as well?

    So, I went to the doctors on Monday. I am having my gallbladder checked on Wednesday morning. Thanks everyone for all the caring words and advice! I will keep you all posted.

  • That's up to you and your doctor. I finally had mine out. Still not really sure if it was my gall bladder that was causing problems or not but now one less thing to think about. I wish I had had mine

  • @@dolphinkrazy22 Yes. I am. I really don't know if it solved my problem but if I do have some pains, it's one less thing off the list to try to figure out the source. The surgery was so easy. When I c

Need a little more info. Did you have RNY gastric bypass surgery? How long ago was that? This doesn't sound like dumping syndrome. Generally with dumping syndrome you either throw up for a couple hours or you have an upset stomach that leads to diarrhea.

Apparently others have experienced these symptoms. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Weight-Loss-Alternatives/stomach-pains-after-gastric-bypass/show/602284

Might be related to a gallbladder attack.

GALLBLADDER ATTACK SYMPTOMS specifically

Please note that if you are in severe pain and particularly if your attack symptoms are accompanied by fever DO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY. The following symptoms are typical of a gallbladder attack.
* Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
* Pain may radiate through to the back or to the right shoulder
* Severe upper abdominal pain (biliary colic)
* Nausea
* Queasiness
* Vomiting
* Gas
* Burping or belching
* Attacks are often at night
* Attacks often occur after overeating
* Pain will often but not always follow a meal with fats or grease
* Pain may be worse with deep inhalation
* Attacks can last from 15 minutes to 15 hours

Do you still have your gall bladder? It sounds like gallstones to me!

Definitely sounds like gallbladder. Call your doctor.

What does the pain feel like?

If I eat bad things or too much, I get a "stitch" on my left side so that's not the same thing

I do recall having strange pains, especially to the right of my belly button but it felt like there was broken glass inside. I even went to the emergency room. It ended up being "the staple dissolving". But, it is always advisable to go to the doctor to be sure because we all have our own aches and pains and until a professional checks it out, it's all guesswork.

Good luck

It's a very painful pain that I can't describe. Broken glass inside sounds about right. I also am having a hard time drinking water. It hurts to drink water and the pain is on my left side under my breast and that feels like my new stomach area. However the horrible pains I have had are on my right side by my belly button and under my right breast.

Yeah, I was doubled over in pain at work--lol. Let us know what it was and how you are doing once you see your dr.!

I am starting to get pains again where I can be doubled over at times. It happened Friday night and now again today. Should I wait till tomorrow or go to the ER now. I don't want them to think I am a whining baby or a problem patient.

Only you can answer that question.
