Tums anyone?!

Anyone know if it's ok to take tums? I take zantac twice a day and I'm not due for 3 hrs yet but I ate a bit of spice and now I have heartburn like nobody's business. Is it safe to take tums?! Someone help.

Tums are fine like you used it but is not an effective replacement for a good PPI like proselec or nexium etc.

Yeah I take zantac in the morning and before bed but had a little episode this evening. I need to see if my doctor can prescribe me something else or stronger though. I feel like this doesn't do the job.
