Hair Loss & Using Permanent Color

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who color your hair, did you continue to do this when you started losing hair? Did it make you lose more hair?

I'm 90% grey and color my hair every 4 weeks. Using a semi-permenent/less harsh color won't begin to cover the grey's.

I'm wondering if putting chemicals on your head will make the hair loss worse. Do you notice more loss after coloring?

  • I color my hair every 4 weeks. I never had breakage at all. The hair loss is shedding and it will happen regardless of whether you color or not. Yes, I shed a lot but it is back to being thick again

I am a little of 5 mos post op. I do have quite a bit of hair loss. I was a little nervous about coloring my hair yesterday, but all went well. There was no breakage at all. My stylist said it wouldn't cause more loss than I already have. Luckily he told me he could see the new hair growing back!! Hope that helps :)

No I don't think so as long as u pay attention to the health of your hair and don't pull out so much when brushing or ironing it with out a heat protect etc I took 2 biotin a day and that made my hair back to normal
