lifting heavy post op-hernia

I'm postop almost 2 weeks as I had my surgery 11/25.

as you know, we shouldn't lift anything heavy after surgery anyway today I had to go to the store and I had to lift my 30 lb 2 year old into the buggy.

a few hours later, & I'm sore on my left side. I have not been picking her up except today.

how long did your dr tell you to wait to lift anything heavy? mine said 4 weeks.

now I guess I'll be paranoid about getting a hernia :/

My surgeon said I could lift my 2 year old by the end of the week after surgery. It was about a week and a half before I did. I'm 5 weeks out now and no soreness now.
