Hernia and Tummy Tuck?

When I had my surgery, my surgeon found a hernia down by my cesarean scar. He said it would be repaired at a later date. Yesterday was my two month check up. I asked him about it. He said in about a year after the majority of weight loss is done, he would repair it and write it up in a way that a tummy tuck would also be done. I thought I misunderstood him, so I asked the nurse what did he mean. My insurance wouldn't pay for it, and I couldn't pay for a tummy tuck myself. She said I wouldn't have to. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I think what he was trying to say was that a hernia repair is covered by your insurance, but a tummy tuck is not. However, if he does them at the same time, he can bill your insurance for hernia repair and you get a free tummy tuck.
