Gout?

Has anyone developed gout post-op? I've never had this before, and now have it affecting my left index metacarpal joint. Seems likely due to the high protein diet and maybe not as much water as I should be getting. Curious to know if anyone else has dealt with this. I'm only 36, and my weight is 203 at present.

I had gout pre-opp. I have not had a flair up post surgery. Did they confirm by looking for the crystals or just go by the symptoms? I have found that hydration beats medication. So take it as a warning sign, the other danger of not getting enough Water is gall stones. My mom had those and they kept treating her like she was having a heart attack.

Just based on symptoms. On colchicine for it...yay. This should be fun. Good news is I can't get gallstones because I have no gallbladder. Lol
