Scope tomorrow! What should I expect after?

My scope is 11:30 am tomorrow. I'm worried about the anesthesia. I stopped my phentermine on Saturday but it said to stop any phentermine 7 days prior. I didn't get that memo until Friday afternoon ???? should I be ok? I know this is the pre-op forum but is there anyone on here who's already done this part? How do you feel afterwards? Thanks in advance!

I had my scope I think it's called end or something good. I was fine. No side affects or anything. And actually felt quite rested lol. Check with your dreams about your meds. And good luck

Having had pretty much zero medical procedures other than being knocked out for my wisdom teeth, I was pretty anxious about the upper endoscopy. It really wasn't bad. They did a couple sprays of a numbing agent in my throat which was probably the worst thing I had ever tasted. Because I couldn't feel myself swallow, it made it feel like I was having trouble breathing... not a good feeling to have. I woke up a bit during the process, but it wasn't traumatic or anything. I remember burping when they had the camera in and being told to try and stop burping (like i had any control.) I vaguely remember them pulling the scope out, but was completely conscious as they finished and wheeled em out. I was good to go within 20-30 mins or so and my wife drove me home.

What is the scope part? What process Is that for

I think they call it the EDG..? It's just where they check your stomach for any issues before surgery.

Which btw mine went ok. Best nap I've had in a while actually.... However I have a ulcer, hernia, and gastritis. He didn't seem overly concerned about what condition they were in just mentioned antibiotics and some Prilosec. Thanks everyone for replying earlier:) it means a lot

So they put u to sleep and then do it? Ok that good I guess. I hate being put to sleep but hey. I'm glade it went ok I just left the er for really bad gerd.
