I had Gastric Banding for 10 years then I did the revision to Gastric Bypass

I had the band to bypass 1 month ago. Feeling pretty good! Haven't puked once that's the weird thing. I can lay down and not have my food come back up. So considering my newness.... it's pretty darn good!

I have the band and miserable...hoping to convert to RNY.

I have the band and convert on Wednesday 16 sept to bypass x

I am converting from sleeve to RNY in October.

How is the sleeve?

  • Author

I lost 120 with the sleeve and then stopped for some reason and after have two kids I'm back up 50lbs. I have pcos and hypothyroid so it's a never ending battle. One thing with sleeve is I can eat sweets so I was hoping getting bypass would help keep me away because if I think I'll dump I won't attempt it

Your sleeve is like my band....never really worked...I have PCOS and insulin resistance...the only thing that will work for us is The RNY....really

No other WLS is gonna do it.

I am converting from sleeve to RNY in October.

Please let me know how you do with it!

I will hope my date firms up but think it will be 10/14.

The DS is also great for those auffering from pcos/insulin resistance/metabolic issues. However, there are serious malabsorption issues and supplements must be taken vigorously for the remainder of life. I am actually familiar with many people who have pcos/insulin resistance syndrsome and have had the sleeve for several years and have been successful with maintaining their loss after reaching goal. I think it all depends on sleeve size as well as other factors. .
