Planning for Help at Home After Surgery

Just doing some planning, and I know everybody is different, but how long are you planning on having help at home after surgery OR how long did you need help after surgery?

Thank you!

My friend traveled to be with me for surgery. Before she arrived I purchased all my Protein and broth, etc. Cleaned the apartment and did laundry. Laid all my PJs out so I wouldn't have to bend over

My husband stayed home with me for 3 days. I definitely needed him here with me! After that, I have been fine staying by myself.

Your surgery was done as outpatient? My surgeon requires a two night stay in the hospital. I thought that was pretty standard. I'm kinda shocked!

I made sure the house was cleaned top to bottom, larder and fridge/freezer stocked and son, who was home from school, primed to jump if I asked for him. I was fine getting in and out of bed, off the loo and in/out of the shower. I didn't have problems with stairs and I didn't go out of the house for over a week. I was very careful with what I did and when I did it.

My biggest issue was the heparin injections which I had to take for 21 days twice day. After 2 weeks I called the surgeon and near enough begged him to let me come off them. My tummy was black and blue and sore and once I was off them life was good and MUCH easier lol.
