I finished up my 6 month supervised diet and a psych evaluation required by my insurance, plus the 3 nutritional visits required by my surgeon. Now I'm in the 2 week waiting zone for insurance approval.

I'm going through the process with Optum Health Bariatric program through United Healthcare. Has anyone else been through this process with UHC? If so, was it a full two weeks? Any other info you have would be great! I'm penciled in for a August 12 surgery date, dependent upon insurance approval.

Waiting is never easy, but you are that much closer to surgery! You'll be surprised how fast the time will fly by. Congrats!

I am waiting for an answer too. I finished my 6 month program through Kaiser on july 13 and it was submitted on the 14th.... The wait sucks lol I'm hoping to find people that are going through similar steps as me so we can keep up with each other through this journey. My biggest feat is being denied. Hopefully we can keep in touch. Good luck!

I'm Kaiser too and my surgery is on 07/29. If you made it through Options it's extremely rare to be denied. Hang in there!

Awesome! I forgot to update that I also received approval Tuesday and my surgery is scheduled for August 19th!! Yay!

Thats great! One of the surgeons is out on maternity leave so i doubt my surgery will be in aug. Good luck
