Hello...I live in Baltimore, MD and I just had gastric bypass surgery Friday, July 17th. I did very well and was able to go home the next day. I am able to walk, go up and down stairs, and sit upright position in a chair. There is not a lot of pain, but I am uncomfortable from the gas. I have yet to make a bowel movement or burp. I have been practicing my breathing exercise with my pump. I have to remind myself to drink more frequently because I'm just not hungry or thirsty.

Congrats for making it safely to the other side. Sounds like you're doing well. I couldn't be happier for you!

Yes!! Please make sure that you are drinking fluids. It is extremely important !

That's for the suggestions. The gas has passed. I had my follow up appointment today with my doctor, Dr. Li at Sinai hospital in Baltimore. She was really impressed how well I'm doing just 5 days post surgery. I'm off all pain meds. Today is my second day drinking Protein shakes (total 80 g) and 48 + oz of Water. I feel great. I walked around walmart and walked the neighborhood twice.

Any east coast inquiries should check Dr. Li at Sinai out. Her track record is phenomenal.
