  1. Hey Everybody!!! I had RNY on 06-29-15. Charlotte, North Carolina SW:388 DOS: 379 CW:334 GW:215-220
  2. Hey Yall!! I'm glad that everyone is doing well. I am doing great. I have lost 51lbs since surgery.
  3. I'm 25... But I had my surgery when I was 24 years old. To be honest I spent my 25 birthday recovering from surgery. I would love to be in the blog group on FB. I am not sure how to send a personal message with my e-mail address. Could someone help me. Thanks!
  4. Have you chose your surgeon yet?
  5. That's who I went through as well. What procedure are you having done?
  6. Are you going through carolinas weight management?
  7. I had some numbness in my right thigh on the upper side. Once I went in for my post-op 2wk visit I brought it up to my surgeon and he said that mine came from the way I placed on the table as well as being in that position for a long time. He said that in due time that it would subside. It has gotten better.. Thank God!!
  8. I went out to eat tonight for the first time since surgery. I was in the car saying what I was going to order and how good it was going to be. Well... It was a totally different story once I got there. I ended up eating salad a tiny piece of bread and I ordered some shrimp( grilled) and I only ate one. It was horrible!!! At one point in my life Olive Garden was great, but now... Eww!! My aunt said I hate you cant eat.. I'm saying to myself thank god I can't because literally I would have ate a whole plate of Shrimp Scampi and a salad, and a possibility of a dessert...
  9. Make sure that you are getting all your fluids in. Dehydration can cause you to have a rapid heart rate. This happened to me as well and I had to get some pedialyte
  10. Oh... Yes ma'am your hormones are getting back regulated. I had my period a week after surgery which was five days and done. It was somewhat regular before that, but I had to take birth control to regulate my period. My doctor said that my hormones were off balance due to my weight.
  11. You can do it be strong!! It is a sacrifice, but it's for the better. Stay strong I'm rooting for you.
  12. I had my surgery at the age of 24 so I spent my 25th birthday recovering from surgery. It gets easier, but it is truly a process.
  13. Make sure that you are chewing your food good until it's liquid form. It will come as you go along in the process. I have threw up two or three times and believe me it's nothing that anyone wants to go threw. It's miserable it takes along of energy from you. I hope you feel better.
  14. I stayed in the hospital for a day. I could have went back to work within two weeks, but I have chosen to stay out the entire six weeks. I have good and bad days. This is my first major surgery so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had my mom and sister home with me for the first week for some additional help which was necessary. They were life savers
  15. I hope that everyone is doing well this far. For all the June 29th people it's our one month anniversary!! Yay!!
  16. I had a small Apple Monday. I did not finish the whole thing. I could not eat the skin. It taste funny to me.
  17. We have.... I know that before I had surgery I never looked at a label. Now I am very cautious as to what I put in my body. I'm looking at everything. My friend goes do you have to look at everything I said yes. This isn't a quick fix, but a lifestyle change. The woman I am today and the woman I was four weeks ago are two different people and I'm not looking back in simply pushing forward. I said I feel great although I have bad days. But no pain no gain. My body knows when I have had enough. Either I'll know or my body will tell me which means I'll throw it up. Four weeks ago I did not have portion control. I was just eating to be eating. Not Cool!! I look at things so much different now. I always had a hard time loosing weight. The most I have ever lost was 40lbs with the help of an detox, but as soon as it was completed I was back at square one. I have been over weight all my life, but I mm looking forward to becoming a healthier me.
  18. Is everybody on a regular diet now?
  19. . So how are you doing? I am doing well just taking it one day at a time. There are somedays that are harder than others, but I continue the fight. I have not had any trouble tolerating any foods, but I have ate too fast a few times which is a no no. I have not experienced any type of dumping since surgery. Thank God!! It's a learning process and you learn as you go. I have been advanced to a regular diet as of today. I probably will still stick to some of the soft diet foods for another week or so. I had salad for the first time last night and it went really well. I have days where I don't want to eat or drink anything, but I know that I can't do that. So on those days I'll have a Protein shake. Then as the day progresses I'll try some food. I have to say that each week gets better. The most important part for you is remember to stay hydrated.... You do not want to end back in the hospital.
  20. I had RNY also I'll be four weeks out tomorrow.
  21. Congrats!! You'll be fine. What procedure are you having done?
  22. I had my period the second week I came home. It was like normal.. Five days and done.
  23. You look great!! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see my progress being that I'm only 3 wks out.
  24. My surgeon only has me taking it for three months.
  25. I went through CWMand Dr.Gersin was my surgeon it took me some to get an appt with him. I started out on the medical side and went to the surgical side.
