Suggestions for pre-op sickness

Hey everybody, I'm a newbie on this site. Looking to develop maybe a few people to talk to throughout my journey. I'm having RNY July 24 and am in the midst of my pre op liquid diet. I was doing fine with the Protein and everything and recently started getting very sick. I switched protein thinking maybe it was that! Seem to be ok in the mornings and get worse as the day goes on!

Anyone else get sick on their pre op diet?! Any suggestions?!

Thanks in advance!

Yes. I'm having surgery July 27. I too have felt sick. It's weird because I have missed meals before and my doctor actually has me on 2 protein shakes and one small meal. I've been nauseated, weak and irritable. It's worse during the day and it's hard to sleep at night. I'm nervous that after surgery I will hate protein shakes but I know this is the process I have to complete. Drinking water and decaffeinated tea helps. Hang in there

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I thought I must be the only person that gets sick off of Water. I got a new Protein today. They are 3 oz each already liquid form and have 42 g of protein. It is much easier to choke down than a whole shake! I have to missed meals all the time and never felt like this... They say it will get easier! I'm so excited for you! Keep me posted on your surgery!

P.s. I'll try the decaf tea idea!

I think the sickness is the body detoxing because b4 you was eating carbs and sugar stuff like that and now u on liquids it will go away I know because I did no carb diets and use to feel like crap now I'm beginning the wls journey so I'll be there again soon
