Pre-Op Liquid Diet

I am on day 9 of a 2 week pre-op liquid diet to shrink my liver before surgery.

I have only lost 5 pounds!

I'm watching my sodium intake and drinking plenty of Water. And following the diet perfectly.

My PCP (?) said most people lose between 10-15 lbs, but I am nowhere near that! Has anyone else experienced this? I don't really know what to think and My surgery is on July 20th.

Hi @@Niki15! So my broth has to be FF and low sodium chicken broth, only 1 cup. I've been camping and just got back today. So of course i weighed myself as soon as I walked in the door this evening and i was down 5lbs. I know its supposed to be in the morning but I was too excited lol ????. I'll check out the whole food store we have. Might have better options. Ty!!!!

No problen @@cdesimone I think we should loose about 20lbs or son on the liquid mine starts in the morning ..wish you luck..

I am on day one of my liquid diet. I am allowed 4 Protein shakes, and any sugar free Clear liquids. No caffeine and low sodium. I am only on day one and already I feel queasy, headache, and tired. I have been peeing ALL DAY and drinking all day long so I know I'm not dehydrated. I am so burnt out on artificial sweeteners and don't know how I'm going to make it 13 more days of this. Someone PLEASE tell me this gets easier.
