So I was going through one clinic & they had more pre-op qualifications then I thought I could handle, come to find out this other clinic aren't asking for nearly as much so I will be able to have my surgery sooner!! I can't wait I am so excited!!! I started this process last year and was 3/4ths the way done all I had to do was lose 10% body fat and move on to the surgery!! However I got cold feet needless to say I had decided I wasn't ready!! But now I am super ready and I can't wait!!!! I don't have as much pre-op qualifications so it will be quick from this point and I am so happy that I am ready for this step finally!!

happy that ready for this step finally!!

@@Sleevie.Nicks

that is great

i've heard others get cold feet right before surgery

then they stop the process

no one should have this surgery if they are too scared, nervous

not sure of having surgery

so you stopped the plan for surgery

then after awhile you realized you really want to go ahead :)

sounds like NOW you are ready :)

keep reading the boards

you'll hear about lots of things you need pre-op and {PO)

discussions about things you hadn't thought of

questions will be answered

you ask your questions

make sure you are prepared for the big day

read, read, read

look into some books

ie bariatric surgery for dummies

they also have a cook book

look at U-tube

flood of information allll over

buy Protein shakes

don't buy too many ahead of time

taste buds change

what you might like now

possibly you won't like PO

happy you "came to your senses" ;) and are proceeding with surgery

good luck

kathy

There's a sweet release that can never be matched when you make the decision to proceed with surgery, and then realize suddenly one day that magically it has slipped over from possibility to reality!

You are well on your way to a whole new life full of promise and happiness. Never look back because your glorious future lies ahead!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
