I am now 7 weeks post op but I did have a leak and was fed through IV for most of the 7 weeks. I am tolerating food in very small quantities but my question is : Is it normal for your stomach to feel strange for a while. I can't call it pain Just an odd bubbly feeling. I don't have reflux so I don't think it's that. After the hell u went through right after surgery I just want to make sure this is normal.

My throat and tummy were bubbly and noisy for a few days after surgery. I'm not sure what is normal, especially with the earlier complication you mentioned. I'm that person who will call the surgeon's office with any question/concern - that would be my recommendation to you.

I hope you're feeling better and that you are over the hump on the leak. Good luck to you.

I am 7 weeks post-op and have had the "bubbly" feeling for several weeks. It started when I began eating the soft and pureed foods. It almost feels like air in my stomach is being displaced as the food goes down. I believe it's normal, but you can always check with your surgeon if you're concerned.

I have that too. Started at around week 3. The bubbles sort of feel like champagne is popping open in my stomach.I'm very aware of it but it does not hurt. I do hear other noises too. I think it started when I went from all liquid to a teaspoon of soft food. I had an easy 2 weeks but the last 2 have been more difficult with my stomach trying to adjust and my intestines not doing what intestines are supposed to do!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
