August 11, 2015. On pre-op diet.

Just had my very last 'work-up' appointment this past Wednesday - upper endoscopy.

Scheduled for surgery August 24th! I can't actually believe I'm doing this. Been on my mind for years and took the jump this past May. I am very ready but...I don't know how I am going to get through 2 weeks of liquid diet, since I never seemed to be able to stick to anything for too long. But I know there is no choice in this matter.

Anyone know of any good books, readings, advice on how to manage this? (I have Alex's 'big book')

I'm on a week diet of healthy foods then next week I start a week of liquids. Good luck to everyone. My surgery is August 12th

So day 1 was the hardest because of the headache I recommend taking the day and just resting and sleep early, day two wasn't as bad day 3 was challenging I get to eat veggies which I didn't know, but then I slipped and ate veggies with plain rice bad bad bad didn't gain but that was bad today way better two shakes down. Organic Green tea is required 4 cups a day so all these liquids keep you close to the wash room lol

I'm August 5th. Only 3 days to go! Excited and getting a little nervous!

Good luck my surgery. Date is August 18 my diet starts the 4th

me too!

Oh wow it's getting so close! Yay -oh no- yay! So much like having a baby- get this thing out of me -lol

I'm August 12th too. Have started my pre-surgery diet of liquids for 2 days, then liquids with salad, then liquids with chicken, then liquids with salad and chicken and rice. Then, three days of liquids only before surgery. I've been doing the "Oh, no, what have I done?" thing a lot lately. Tried to see if I could get my air miles back if I cancelled my flight - answer was no. Arggh! Slipped and had an oreo blizzard last night. It was sooo good. Just the thought that this surgery is permanent - I might not be able to have ice cream ever again - just the thought is scarey. I want to lose the weight, but I want to still be able to have ice cream. It's so hard!

Have been trying to eat a lot less lately, and I'm so hungry! I really hope that the hunger is less after surgery. The doctors claim that it is. I had never heard of Grehlin before (the hormone that causes hunger and is in the stomach). Has anyone else?

Tuesday is seriously like a day away!!
