Hello

Hi wave.gif, my name is Ashley, I'm 19, and from Chicago.

I am thinking about having the lap band done.

My mother had gastric bypass, and every thing worked out great for her.

I am kinda scared about getting the lap band phanvan.gif, but i am readysmile.gif.

I was wondering if you can feel the lap band once you have it done?

Hi Ashley and welcome. It's so normal to be scared, especially once you've made the decision!

The ways I can feel my band: If I press on my port area I can feel the port. I also can feel things when they get stuck and I PB. However, I'm very careful and it hardly ever happens anymore.

Good luck with your plans.

Hi Ashley, I can't feel my band. If I lie down on my back I can find my port though. You will not feel your band as well. Typically gastric bypass patients lose faster. Lapband is more gradual. I have lost 56 lbs since last June 6th. I have about 45 to go. You can expect 1-2 lbs per week. Some bandsters lose faster. It depends on if you exercise a lot.
