Preop and constipation

Hi everyone! This is my 9 day of my preop diet and I have already lost 10 lbs! My surgery is not until June 18 so I am excited to continue to lose more - hopefully 15 to 25 lbs.

Anyways, I am having horrible constipation that is causing me pain. It's bothered me the past couple of days and so last night I took some stool softener and laxative, bug it's still not working. It says it might take 2 to 3 days to work which seems like a long time. I'm calling the doctor today.

Has anyone else have this problem? What happened? Any solutions?

I didn't have issues with pre-op diet but I have been having trouble post-op. they told me miralax. it didn't do much except cause gas and cramping. post-op requires Iron and was told to quit taking iron supplement and things have finally started to move, plus I am eating more veggies now. I had also added Fiber, forgot to mention that too. I have stopped adding it for now.
