3 days post op

Things are finally improving. I had a rough first day and half post op. I was walking every 2 hours or more in the hospital and still couldn't get the gas out. I was miserable and afraid of giving up my Morphine PCA. I couldn't get liquids in with pain it felt like the water was making the gas pain worse. The surgeon came to see me about 530 pm and held all my liquids for the night and took my Morpine away started me on my liquid lortab. I started passing gas within 4 hours and was feeling a lot better. I went home 2nd day post op and feel more comfortable at home. I sleep in my recliner because laying flat is too painful. I've increased my clear liquids and can start full liquids tomorrow. The rough start will make me appreciate my successes more and not take the surgery for granted. Feeling blessed that everyday I feel better and improve.
