Everyone loses at different rates. I lost 23 lb in first month. It the 3 week stahl and the scale just started moving for me again. I am 6 weeks post-op tomorrow. Oh I forgot I had revision from lap band to bypass.

It's different for everyone depending on how much you need to lose and your body. I personally lost 30 pounds the first month after surgery. I'm a 38 year old male who weighed 415 at the time of my vsg surgery.

Anyone else gain huge after surgery and spend the first week just trying to get back to where they were the day of surgery? I am 5 days post-op and still heavier by 2 pounds than I was going in for VSG.

I didn't gain huge, but I definitely had a gain. A great deal can be contributed to all the IV fluids you received. Once you start drinking more and walking longer distances it will come off quicker.

Thanks, I feel like I never stop drinking but walking is hard for me because I had a complication during surgery with an ab muscle that wouldn't stop bleeding. Therefore that muscle is extremely painful. Walking is hard.

My first weigh in the day after the surgery I was 3lbs heavier than before the surgery from all the IV fluids.
