Abnormal EKG

How is it my Feburary 07 EKG test was normal and my EKG test last week shows Eurhythmy? My surgery scheduled for June 25th. Waiting on the surgeon to call to decide whether or not he wants me to go to a cardiologist? Case manager will set up appointment. I'm tired ya'll, I'm having second thoughts. I can't see my heart getting that bad in 3 months. I feel the June test is in error.

Pamla- I know what you are going through. I am trying to get medical clearance for banding and I am having issues with my heart as well. I have had all the heart tests done and they cannot find a reason for my tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) so they are doing a bunch of other tests to try and find out the cause. In the meantime, I can't have surgery because they are afraid my heartrate will become erratic during surgery and they will have to bring me back without doing the surgery. I'm so frustrated because I have so many health problems that I know are weight-related and I know most of them would improve if I could have the surgery and lose this weight. But, if they say I'm not healthy enough to have the surgery, then what?

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this but if they feel the need for additional testing, let them do it. It's better to be safe than sorry. Its possible that you had the arrhythmia in February but since they only get a reading of 1-2 minutes on the EKG, it may not have picked it up in that short of a period of time on the first test.
